Mumbai, Maharashtra, 28th of September, 2026 : Mahindra Manulife Insurance Limited, the 50:50 joint venture between Mahindra Group and Manulife, has announced the appointment of Nirmal Nogaja as Appointed Actuary (Designate) and Jitin Parekh as Chief Risk Officer, strengthening the company’s leadership capabilities across actuarial, risk, governance and regulatory functions as it sets out to create a differentiated, AI-driven, digitally-enabled and customer-centric life insurance franchise in India.
Both Nirmal Nogaja and Jitin Parekh come with extensive experience in the life insurance industry.

As the Appointed Actuary (Designate), Nirmal will lead the actuarial function at Mahindra Manulife Insurance and will be responsible for capital management, product pricing, financial reporting and regulatory stewardship to support the Company’s sustainable growth.
As the Chief Risk Officer, Jitin will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the company’s enterprise risk management, governance and regulatory frameworks, while driving launch readiness across the company and supporting its sustainable growth.

Nirmal is an actuarial and finance professional with nearly two decades of experience across the life insurance sector. Prior to joining Mahindra Manulife Insurance, he served as CFO and Appointed Actuary at Edelweiss Life Insurance. Over the course of his career, he has also held leadership positions at HDFC Life, Exide Life Insurance and Tata AIA Life Insurance, where he worked across actuarial, finance, pricing, valuation and financial reporting functions.
Jitin brings over 16 years of experience with Bandhan Life Insurance, where he worked across risk, legal, compliance, secretarial, operations and project management functions. In his most recent role at Bandhan Life, he served as Chief Governance Officer, giving him extensive experience in governance and risk oversight within the life insurance sector.
The Mahindra-Manulife JV aims to offer long-term savings and protection solutions tailored to the diverse and growing needs of India’s population, in line with India’s “Insurance for All” vision by 2047. Combining Mahindra’s deep access and extensive distribution in rural and semi- urban areas with Manulife’s proven quality agency, product, development and underwriting capabilities catered to urban customers, the joint venture will create long term value by driving customer centricity and leveraging new technologies.
