Nagpur, 9th of May 2026 : “Make AI your friend, but remember that people will remain your real strength,” said Nitin Gupta, Chief Financial Officer, Info Edge Ventures, while addressing the new Executive MBA (Hybrid) Batch 2026–28 at the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur on Saturday.

Gupta, who is associated with Info Edge Ventures, the investment platform linked with some of India’s most successful startup stories including Zomato and Policybazaar, was the Chief Guest for the ceremony.

In an interactive address to the incoming batch, Gupta urged the participants to go beyond basic use of ChatGPT and start exploring specialised AI tools. “The future belongs to those who know how to ask the right questions to AI. So, learn the art of asking the most proper questions,” he said.

Stressing the importance of networking at senior levels, he said that career growth is not driven only by AI-generated resumes or digital profiles. “Building relationships and having a strong network can bring better opportunities, which AI-generated resumes and CVs may not do. After all, people are your strength,” he said. He also encouraged the participants to look at India as the centre of future opportunity.

Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, welcomed the new batch and said the participants had chosen the programme at a very important time.

“You are lucky to be part of this programme at such an important time. India is going to offer leadership to the world in the next few years, and learning management skills from a premier institute like an IIM is one of the best decisions you can make for your career,” Dr Metri said.

Dr Prashant Gupta, Dean – Faculty and Academics, IIM Nagpur, delivered the welcome address and spoke about the programme and the institute. Dr Apoorv Khare, Chairperson – Executive MBA, gave a formal briefing about the course structure and academic expectations.

Sharing the batch profile, Dr Rakesh Gupta, Chairperson – Admissions, IIM Nagpur, said the new batch has 32 participants. The average age of the batch is 31 years. The batch includes 25 male candidates and 7 female candidates.

“The most heartening factor is that the participants come from very diverse industries, companies and roles. We have participants from organisations such as Tech Mahindra, Capco, Symphony, BYJU’S, Atlas, Tata Motors, LIC, Mahindra, Accenture, HCL, ICICI, HDFC, Apollo Tyres and many more. This reflects the acceptance of this programme across industries,” Dr Rakesh Gupta said. The ceremony was attended by faculty members and staff of IIM Nagpur.
