Dharmanagar, Tripura, 17th of August, 2026 : With the worship of Goddess Mansa scheduled for tomorrow, final preparations are underway in Dharmanagar town of North Tripura. Ahead of the festival, the local market witnessed a rush of shoppers on Monday, with people busy making last-minute purchases.

From the morning, various parts of Dharmanagar market remained crowded with buyers and sellers. Idols of Goddess Mansa in different sizes and designs were available, while shops selling flowers, fruits, puja materials and other essentials also saw a steady flow of customers. Devotees were busy purchasing idols and other items according to their preferences and budgets.

However, some buyers expressed dissatisfaction over the prices of the idols this year. According to several customers, the prices have increased significantly compared to last year, with some idols reportedly costing nearly twice as much. The rise in prices has made it difficult for some families to manage their festival budgets.Idol sellers, on the other hand, said that the increase in the cost of raw materials, labour wages, transportation and other expenses had forced them to raise prices this year.Overall, Dharmanagar and its surrounding areas have taken on a festive atmosphere ahead of Tuesday’s Mansa Puja. While the market has become increasingly busy with last-minute shopping, devotees are also showing considerable enthusiasm and excitement for the festival.
