Agartala, Tripura, 1st of August, 2024 : On 31st July at Frontier HQ BSF Tripura, a courtesy meeting was held between Sh Patel Piyush Purusottam Das IPS, IG BSF and His Excellency Mr. Arif Mohammad Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Tripura.
Various issues, including illegal migration from Bangladesh, trans border smuggling, and developmental works along the border, were discussed.
IG BSF apprised him about the present status of illegal infiltration and involvement of Bangladesh nationals in smuggling activities. IG BSF also emphasised upon and requested His Excellency Assistant High Commissioner to take preventive measures to stop such activities from the Bangladesh side .
Meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere with a commitment to maintain friendly relations between two countries and to maintain peace and tranquility on the border.
BSF is adopting a multiprong strategy to prevent the infiltration and smuggling all along the state border.
