Mumbai, Maharashtra, 22nd of December 2025 : Have you ever imagined hundreds of people travelling together smoothly in a single elevator ride? At Mumbai’s Jio World Centre, this vision has become reality. KONE India recently hosted a special media tour showcasing the world’s largest passenger elevator, a record-breaking marvel unveiled in May 2022 and now fully operational.

Designed and delivered by KONE India, this massive elevator spans 25.78 square metres, weighs 16 tonnes, and can carry up to 235 passengers at once across five floors. It plays a vital role during large-scale events, international exhibitions, and high-profile conferences, efficiently managing heavy crowd movement.

Featuring panoramic glass walls, the elevator offers not just advanced engineering but also a visually stunning travel experience. Speaking on the achievement, Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE India & South Asia, highlighted the company’s customer-first approach and commitment to safe, reliable, and people-centric infrastructure. This innovation reflects KONE’s long-term Rise strategy, supporting smarter, safer, and more sustainable urban mobility for India’s rapidly growing cities.
