Mega Mass Rally As A Part Of The “Indian Swachhata League” Organized By AMC.

With the initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) organized Mega Mass rally as a part of the “Indian Swachhata League” at Agartala on Sunday (17th September, 2023).

The procession has started from the Umakanta Academy premises and passes through various roads of the city in the morning and ended in front of the Ujjayanta Palace. The main objective of organizing the rally was to give utmost importance to ‘ Swachhata ‘, increase the participation of the youth community and emphasize on source segregation of waste. Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has undertaken a huge task of cleaning and permanently removing 51 garbage-rich areas of the city. As a result, it will be possible to make Agartala a cleaner city.

Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the rally by waving the flag and congratulated the people of Agartala for their commitment to cleanliness. The finance minister said that the dream of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi was to build a beautiful and clean India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme to make his dream come true. This campaign programme has been very fruitful in the country. The second phase of India’s Swachhata League 2.0 programme has started across the country from today. Will continue till 2024. Its main theme is – ‘Youth vs Garbage’. Everyone’s participation in creating a garbage free India. The finance minister said that the citizens should also be aware to build a garbage free city. Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that the Municipal Corporation authorities have taken initiatives to implement the second phase of the programme of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, Indian Gymnast Arjuna Awardee Dipa Karmakar, members of Urban Development Committee, corporators, students of various schools and colleges, NGOs, NCC cadets and other dignitaries were participated in the colourful procession.
