Dharmanagar, Tripura, 26th of June 2026 : Alleging deterioration in the law-and-order situation in the state, the steep rise in prices of essential commodities, and protesting the mysterious death of Monisha Das, a student of Shantiniketan Medical College, the Amra Bangali organization staged a demonstration and submitted a memorandum in Dharmanagar on Wednesday.

Under the initiative of the North Tripura District Committee of the organization, a protest rally was held in Dharmanagar town, following which a memorandum containing five demands was submitted to the Chief Minister of Tripura through the District Magistrate of North Tripura.According to the organization, the unnatural death of Monisha Das in the hostel of Shantiniketan Medical College Hospital has sparked widespread concern and outrage across the state. The organization alleged that attempts are being made to establish the incident as a case of suicide even before the complete post-mortem report has been made public, raising serious questions among the public regarding the impartiality of the investigation.
In the memorandum, the organization demanded a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation into the death of Monisha Das. It also highlighted several public interest issues, including the improvement of the state’s law-and-order situation and effective measures to control the rising prices of essential commodities.After submitting the memorandum, members and supporters of the organization staged a protest demonstration in front of the District Magistrate’s office and urged the authorities to implement their demands without delay.The leaders of the organization warned that if effective steps are not taken within a stipulated period, they would launch a larger-scale movement in the coming days.
