Agartala, Tripura, 11th of August 2025 : With the initiative of the Vivekananda Shishu Niketan organized Merit Recognition and Prize Giving Ceremony at New Town Hall, Bishalgarh, Sepahijala, Tripura on Monday (11th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the events today.

Addressing at the Merit Recognition & Prize Giving Ceremony Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that only students who are educated and gain knowledge in real education will play an important role in the development and progress of the country and our state in the future. Apart from achieving good results in the exams, students should also think about the country and society. For their all development, teachers and guardians should inspire students to participate in studies, sports, cultural activities, and various social activities.

At the event, the Chief Minister also added that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new education policy has been launched across the country. The new education policy is being implemented in various Schools and Universities in the State. The State Government is working on the promotion of quality education with priority. In this context, she highlighted initiatives like Vidya Jyoti Project, Super 30, Talent Search Program etc.

The Chief Minister said that so far vocational education has been started in 426 schools and smart classes in 800 schools. So far, 200 meritorious students have been given scholarships of Rs. 60,000 each under the Chief Minister’s Scholarship for Achiever’s Towards Higher Learning(CM- SATH). So far, 140 girls have been given pairs under the Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana. Free bicycles have been given to 1 lakh 22 thousand girls. The Chief Minister said that last year, Rs. 153 crore was spent on constructing new buildings in various schools. In the current financial year, Rs. 264 crore will be spent on constructing new buildings in various schools. In addition, Rs. 151 crore will be spent on renovating various schools. The Chief Minister called upon people from all sections to participate in the developmental work of the state.

President of the Vivekananda Educational Welfare Society Rajesh Sur Chowdhury delivered a welcome address at the inaugural session of Merit Recognition & Prize Giving Ceremony today. The Chief Minister presented mementos to Sumit Debnath, the third rank in this year’s Madhyamik examination conducted by the TBSE, Deepjoy Sutradhar, the eighth rank, Drishti Debnath and Mrinmayee Deb, the ninth rank jointly, and Anirban Chakraborty, the tenth rank.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Nabadal Banik, Supriya Das Datta, Sabhadhipati of the Sipahijala Zilla Parishad, Chairperson of Bishalgarh,Municipal Council Anjan Purkayastha, District Magistrate and Collector of Sepahijala Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, President of Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Dr. Dhananajoy Gan Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma and many other dignitaries were present in the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by headmaster of Vivekananda Shishu Niketan Sudhish Bhattacharjee.
