Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of July 2026 : While paved road construction and renovation projects are progressing across several Gram Panchayat areas in the state, a road in Ward No. 19 under the Dharmanagar Municipal Council has remained unpaved for several years.E ven light rainfall turns the road into a muddy stretch, causing severe inconvenience to local residents. With the onset of the monsoon, the condition deteriorates further as waterlogging and thick mud make daily commuting extremely difficult.

Residents say travelling by motorcycle, bicycle, or other vehicles has become risky due to the poor condition of the road.According to locals, they have repeatedly appealed to the Dharmanagar Municipal Council and the concerned public representatives to pave the road, but no effective action has been taken so far. They also alleged that the road lacks basic infrastructure such as streetlights.

Residents questioned how such neglect can continue in an urban municipal ward when even remote rural areas of the state are receiving well-constructed paved roads. They believe the prolonged delay reflects a lack of attention toward urban development and civic infrastructure. The residents have urged the authorities to take immediate administrative steps to construct the road and ensure that the hardships faced by people during the monsoon season come to an end without further delay.
