Multiple Initiatives Taken To Improve District Hospital Services; District Magistrate Addresses Press Conference At Trauma Centre Hall.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 7th of August, 2026 : A press conference was held on Wednesday at the Trauma Centre Hall of North Tripura District Hospital in Dharmanagar to highlight several initiatives undertaken to improve and modernize healthcare services at the hospital.

The conference was attended by North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Dipak Haldar, and Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Bhaskar Das.

Addressing the media, District Magistrate Chandni Chandran said that the administration has introduced several important measures to ensure better and quality healthcare services for patients. She emphasized that maintaining cleanliness, discipline, and the overall management of the hospital requires not only administrative efforts but also the cooperation of the general public. She appealed to everyone to actively participate in keeping the hospital well-organized and patient-friendly.

The District Magistrate also informed that the first patient admitted to the newly operational Critical Care Unit (CCU), which started functioning on August 5, has successfully recovered and returned home. She added that the CCU will remain operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

She further announced that, in order to enhance the quality of hospital services, a nominal fee will be introduced for diagnostic tests such as X-ray and ECG, among others. However, these services will continue to be provided free of cost to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families, Antyodaya beneficiaries, and other eligible government scheme beneficiaries.

During the press conference, the administration also outlined its future plans to further strengthen the hospital’s infrastructure and expand healthcare services for the benefit of the people of North Tripura.
