Dharmanagar, Tripura, 28th of June 2026 : In keeping with the tradition of Lions International, where a new leadership team assumes office each year for the term from July 1 to June 30, the Lions Club of Dharmanagar is set to hold its annual Installation Ceremony on Saturday at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar.
Ahead of the event, the club organized a press conference at the Lions Club premises on Saturday (27th June, 2026).The press conference was attended by Past District Governor and International Director Enrods M.P. Agarwala, who arrived from Guwahati, Vice President of Lions Club of Dharmanagar Dipankar Biswas, Past District Governor Shubhankar Sen, along with several other club members.

During the interaction with the media, club representatives highlighted the organization’s social service initiatives over the past year and outlined several upcoming public welfare projects. They reiterated that the club remains committed to serving society through continuous efforts in healthcare, education, environmental protection, and humanitarian services.
Among the major healthcare initiatives undertaken during the year were a blood donation camp on Independence Day, through which 44 units of blood of various groups were donated to the Dharmanagar Blood Bank, free diabetes screening camps, health awareness programmes, and the observance of National Doctors’ Day. Environmental conservation efforts included the Lions Cleanliness Drive and several tree plantation programmes.The club also carried out numerous community welfare activities, including the distribution of 115 blankets among tea garden workers, distribution of umbrellas during the monsoon season, providing food and refreshments to traffic police personnel during Durga Puja, supplying new clothes and essential items to underprivileged children, organizing hunger relief camps, and serving food while spending time with elderly residents at old-age homes.
In the field of youth development and education, the club organized skill development programmes, women’s empowerment initiatives, National Sports Day celebrations, Independence Day observances, and motivational and educational activities for students.The club also highlighted several ongoing flagship service projects, including 24-hour ambulance services, round-the-clock oxygen support, safe drinking water facilities, the Vijayalakshmi Self -Reliance Project, and the Lions Techno Project. Special emphasis was also placed on the expansion and development of the club’s signature initiative, the Lions Children Park.
Club representatives stated that, guided by the Lions International motto “We Serve,” the newly installed committee aims to further expand its humanitarian and community service activities, reaching more people across different sections of society in the coming year.
