NHM Employees Unite For Their Rights, New District Committee Formed In North Tripura.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : With the objective of working collectively for the rights, welfare and various issues of National Health Mission (NHM) employees, the NHM United Forum formed a new district committee in North Tripura. The formation of the committee was formally announced at a district-level interaction meeting held on Sunday at the Ardhendu Bhattacharya Smriti Bhavan in Dharmanagar.The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp.

Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen, distinguished guests and representatives of the NHM United Forum were present at the event.During the meeting, detailed discussions and exchanges of views were held on various problems, rights and welfare-related issues concerning NHM employees. Emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination among NHM employees working in different parts of the district and further strengthening the organisation.The employees also highlighted various long-standing grievances. It was alleged that NHM employees have been deprived of various government benefits since 2006. They also raised the issue of not receiving equal pay for equal work in cases involving similar responsibilities.

The organisation called upon NHM employees to work together while upholding the principles of dignity, service and justice, and to play a more effective role in providing healthcare services to the people.The programme also carried the message of a “Drug-Free, Green Tripura.” An appeal was made to increase awareness against drug abuse and to build a healthy and green society through environmental protection and tree plantation. Trees were planted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, conveying a message of environmental conservation.The guests expressed hope that by uniting NHM employees, the organisation would play a more active role in safeguarding their rights and welfare while also contributing to improving the quality of healthcare services across the state.
