Bihar, 28th of January 2024 : Nitish Kumar was resigned as Chief Minister on Sunday (28th January, 2024) to quit the existing less than 18 months coalition Government with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He submitted his resignation to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. After resigned, Nitish Kumar and his party Janata Dal (United) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic (NDA).

Hon’ble Governor of Bihar Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office to the Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar takes oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar.
