No electricity For Last 13 Days, Angry Women Staged Road Blockade.

Sabroom, Tripura, 9th of November, 2024 : No electricity, No Water for last thirteen (13) days, in Kalanbari area Poangbari ADC Village, Poangbari R.D. Block under Sabroom subdivision. Due to constant deprivation for drinking water, electricity issues local women road blocked. The main road from Poangbari to Manu Bazar when the people of Kanalbari area blocked the road at around eight in the morning on Friday 8th November. Their complaint is that for the last 13 days, 85 families of the entire area are suffering from lack of water. Although the ADC village officials were repeatedly informed about the whole matter, the public representatives including the Panchayat Secretary , did not take any action.

The statement of the people was also conveyed to the Block Development Officer. But there is no did not take any action. Later, when contacted by the media on behalf of the block collective development officer, it is known that D.W.S. was informed by letter three times. But no confirmation was received from the D.W.S. office regarding the whole matter. Due to which the angry people of the area blocked the road on Friday morning. Later, under the pressure of the official, arrange of water was sent to 85 families by 11 o’clock.According to local sources, that the pump operator in the area has not been getting paid for the past one year.
