North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026 To Showcase Transformative Infrastructure Opportunities Across The North East.

Guwahati, Assam, 12th of June 2026 :  The Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) today announced the upcoming North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026 (NEIINFRA 2026), scheduled to be held on June 15–16, 2026, in Shillong, Meghalaya. The summit is being hosted by the Government of Meghalaya, organised by FINER, and co-organised by the Build India Foundation.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Mr. Bajrang Lohia, President, FINER said:

“NEIINFRA 2026 is set to emerge as one of the largest infrastructure and investment platforms in the region, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, infrastructure developers, financial institutions, and technology innovators to explore opportunities that will shape the future of North East India. The summit aims to catalyse investments, strengthen public-private partnerships, and accelerate the development of critical infrastructure that will enhance regional connectivity, economic integration, and sustainable development across the North Eastern Region.”

Positioned as the region’s premier infrastructure investment and policy platform, NEIINFRA 2026 will be graced by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. The event will also be attended by Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, the host state for the summit.

The two-day summit will also bring together officials from eight Union Ministries, Chief Ministers and senior officials from the Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, Arunachal PradeshNagaland industry leaders, investors, infrastructure developers, financial institutions, and technology innovators to deliberate on the future of infrastructure-led growth in North East India.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Rajeev Agarwal, Vice President, FINER, Convenor, NEIINFRA noted that the summit represents a significant opportunity to position the North East as a key driver of India’s infrastructure expansion and economic development agenda.

“Hon’ble CM, Shri Conrad Sangma’s commitment to development brings Meghalaya as Host State. Presence of all key officials will offer hands on solutions to the industry. MSME’s, innovative funding for Startups and Business houses have a major role to play in the Roads & Highways, Tourism Infrastructure, Industrial Infrastructure, Digital Infrastructure, Aviation & Airports, Ports & Waterways sectors. The summit will serve as a catalyst for transformative investments and strategic collaborations that unlock the region’s immense potential. Designed as an outcome-oriented platform, NEIINFRA 2026 seeks to foster actionable partnerships, policy dialogue, investment commitments, and collaborative frameworks that support the next phase of growth and development across the North East.”

The summit agenda will feature an inaugural session led by distinguished national and state leaders, plenary discussions on regional connectivity and infrastructure strategy, sector-focused sessions, CEO roundtables, and a dedicated North East Region Investment Session showcasing opportunities across all NER states.

A major highlight of the event will be a comprehensive exhibition showcasing innovations, projects, technologies, and investment opportunities across six strategic sectors:

  • Roads & Highways
  • Tourism Infrastructure
  • Industrial Infrastructure
  • Digital Infrastructure
  • Aviation & Airports
  • Ports & Waterways

Briefing about the expected outcome from the summit, Ms. Ranjana Bhajanka, Director, FINER and Co-Convener, NEIINFRA 2026 said:

 “The venue LARITI Performing Centre at Shillong in the host state of Meghalaya, is a testimony of the fact that the North East stands at the threshold of transformative infrastructure-led growth. Through stronger policy recommendations, strategic public-private partnerships, cross-sector investments, and meaningful collaborations between government and industry, we can unlock unprecedented opportunities for the region. Our collective efforts will not only accelerate infrastructure development but also create a unified roadmap toward Viksit Bharat 2047, positioning the North East as a key driver of India’s future growth story.”

Commenting on the significance of the summit, Mr. Atul Kulkarni, Member Board of Governors, IIM Shillong, Knowledge Partner for NEIINFRA 2026 said:

“The North East is entering a transformative phase where infrastructure development will play a decisive role in improving connectivity, driving economic growth, and thereby attracting investments. NEIINFRA 2026 provides a timely platform for governments, industry leaders, investors, and institutions to collaborate and create sustainable development pathways for the region. The NER requires some out of the box approach to achieve it’s true potential and outcomes of this summit have the potential to significantly strengthen the North East’s contribution to India’s growth story.”

Briefing further about the event, Mr. Vaibhav Dange, Founder, Build India and Co-Convener, NEIINFRA informed:

“The summit is expected to attract over 800 delegates and leading stakeholders from across the infrastructure ecosystem, creating a unique platform for networking, investment discussions, policy engagement, technology showcase, and business development. We have invited Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism and Culture for the second day of the event.   

With participation from all eight North Eastern states and key stakeholders from government and industry, NEIINFRA 2026 is expected to serve as a landmark platform for accelerating infrastructure-led development, strengthening regional connectivity, and unlocking new investment opportunities across the North East.
