Agartala, Tripura, 6th of December, 2025 : With the initiative of the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department Government of Tripura observed the Mahaparinirvana Diwas, commemorates the death anniversary of the Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar at Ujjayanta Palace (Tripura State Museum) premises, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (6th December, 2025).
Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid floral tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 70th death anniversary, SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, teachers, students and other dignitaries also paid tributes.
At the event Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu said that under the chairmanship of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the draft of the Constitution of India was prepared. He ensured equality, freedom, and opportunities for all the people of the country in the Constitution. To development of the backward communities, he introduced the system of reservation in the Constitution. Provision was also made in the Indian Constitution to ensure the participation of women in the Indian electoral system.
Secretary of Scheduled Castes Welfare Department Deepa D. Nair delivered welcome address at the event. Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das was also addressed at the event. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury and many other dignitaries were present in the event.
