Agartala, Tripura, 17th of July 2026 : Continuing its tradition of community service, Odia Samaj Tripura (OST) successfully organised its Jalachhatra Seva (Free Cold Drinking Water Distribution) Programme on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra at Post Office Chowmuhani, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (16th July, 2026).
Like previous years, members of Odia Samaj Tripura enthusiastically participated in the noble initiative by serving chilled drinking water, sharbat, to thousands of devotees and passers-by who gathered to witness the Rath Yatra celebrations. The service provided much-needed relief from the summer heat and humidity, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian values.
The programme witnessed active participation from all office bearers, senior members, women members, youth volunteers, and other members of the organisation, all of whom worked together with dedication and a spirit of selfless service. The initiative embodied the timeless Indian ethos of “Service to Humanity is Service to God.”
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers reaffirmed OST’s commitment to continuing such social service activities that promote compassion, community welfare, and cultural values. The devotees and the general public appreciated the efforts of Odia Samaj Tripura and expressed gratitude for the thoughtful initiative by the organisers every year. Apart from this OST as a socio cultural organisation also organises free health camp, relief work during natural calamities, distribution of essential commodities & clothes to different orphanage & old age homes on their special occasions, promotion of odia language speaking & writing skill for the childrens of Odia residing in different tea gardens etc. as part of it’s social commitment towards society.
The Jalachhatra Seva programme has become one of the flagship social service activities of Odia Samaj Tripura during Rath Yatra, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to serving society through meaningful community engagement.
