Dharmanagar, Tripura, 24th of May 2026 : A new twist has emerged in the widely discussed unnatural death case of Rahul Kishore Roy in Dharmanagar. Based on a written complaint filed by the deceased Rahul Kishore Roy’s wife, Dharmanagar police arrested one of the seven accused persons during the course of the investigation.
Officer-in -Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station, Mina Debbarma, stated that a case was registered on 5 May 2026 in connection with Rahul Kishore Roy’s unnatural death, alleging abetment to suicide. The case has been registered as DMN PS 27/26 under Sections 329(4), 117(2), 351(3), and 108/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Following the complaint, police launched an investigation. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested one accused, identified as Konkon Chowdhury, from his residence at Bhairab Sarani in Dharmanagar on Sunday, 24 May.
Police said that the accused is being interrogated to gather information regarding the involvement of the other accused persons connected to the incident. Search operations are continuing to trace the remaining accused.The incident has created widespread sensation across Dharmanagar. Residents are now closely watching the police investigation to uncover the actual cause behind Rahul Kishore Roy’s death.
