Orthopedic Specialists Successful Hip Joint Replacement Surgery On A 65-Year-Old Woman At Khowai District Hospital.

Khowai, Tripura, 19th of August, 2025 : A team of Orthopedic specialists successfully surgery a hip joint replacement on a 65-year-old woman in Khowai District Hospital on Monday (18th August, 2025) morning,. Interacted with the media details of the operation, Medical Superintendent of Khowai District Hospital Sharadindu Reang said that it was the first time that a patient’s hip joint was successfully replaced in Khowai District Hospital. The patient’s name is Kajal Debnath 65, a resident of Kalyanpur area.

The woman’s hip joint broke due to an accident a few days ago. She rushed to GB Hospital regarding this but due to time, she could not be treated properly there. Finally, on August 9, when she consulted with the Orthopedic specialists of Khowai District Hospital, they promised to replace the woman’s hip joint. And as per that promise, the woman’s hip joint was replaced successfully in about an hour from 10:30 to 11:30 on Monday morning.

During a surgical operation, Orthopedic specialists, namely Sergeant Dr. Aman Debbarma, Dr. Biswajit Debbarma, Nursing Officer Trinamoy Debbarma, Nurse Shyamali Debbarma, GAD worker Arindam Nama, OT Assistant Shanta Kumar Tripura, and other nurses of Khowai District Hospital were present in the OT of Khowai District Hospital.

In this regard, Sharadindu Reang, Medical Superintendent of Khowai District Hospital, said that with the overall cooperation of the State Government and Khowai District Magistrate, and with the help of the district hospital’s Orthopedic specialists and other staff, this was the first hip joint replacement performed successfully at this Khowai District Hospital. Therefore, he sincerely thanked the State Government and the District Magistrate for making such efforts a success at the initiative of Khowai District Hospital.
