Dharmanagar, Tripura, 13th of May 2026 : The primary section of the secondary school under Satsangam Gram Panchayat has been facing a severe teacher shortage for a long time. Parents alleged that academic activities have been seriously affected as it is impossible for a single teacher to manage the entire section alone. In protest against the situation, parents and students staged a demonstration on Wednesday morning by hanging metal plates at the school gate.

According to reports, only one teacher, Halal Ahmed, is currently serving in the primary section of the school. As a result, he has been forced to handle all classes, administrative responsibilities, and other duties single-handedly. Parents claimed that this has hampered the quality of education and prevented students from receiving proper lessons.
Demanding immediate appointment of teachers, the protest began at around 8 AM on Wednesday.Demonstrators adopted an innovative method of protest by hanging metal plates at the main entrance of the school. The agitation continued for nearly five and a half hours, disrupting the normal atmosphere of the institution to some extent. To bring the situation under control, administrative officials reached the spot.
Deputy IAS officer of Dharmanagar, Abhimanyu Malakar, and OSD Samir Das held discussions with the protesters. They assured the parents that steps would be taken to appoint new teachers in the school within the next few days.Following the administration’s assurance, the parents withdrew their protest and normal academic activities resumed at the school. However, several parents warned that if teachers are not appointed soon, they would launch a larger movement in the future
