Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of May 2026 : On Friday, May 1, the 2570th Buddha Jayanti, also known as Buddha Purnima, was observed with devotion, reverence, and joy at Jyotiban Buddha Vihar, located in the South Hurua area of College Road in Dharmanagar, North Tripura.From early morning, a large number of devotees gathered at the vihar premises. The Inauguration of the Event was marked by lighting lamps, offering flowers, and prayers in front of the idol of Lord Buddha. Alongside religious rituals, the life and teachings of Buddha, emphasizing peace and compassion, were shared among the devotees.

Karunashree Mahathero of Jyotiban Buddha Vihar stated, “Buddha Purnima is not just a religious festival; it carries a message of humanity, non-violence, and compassion. On this day, we pray for the well-being of all and take a pledge to follow the path shown by Buddha.”The day also featured religious discourses, recitation of sacred texts (sutra path), and meditation sessions. Prasad was distributed among the devotees, and many people engaged in acts of charity and reflection to deepen the significance of the occasion. The entire event was filled with a serene and spiritual atmosphere, leaving a profound impact on all present. On this sacred day of Buddha Purnima, the message of peace, harmony, and human values spread across Dharmanagar.
