Sabroom, Tripura, 12th of July 2025 : Locals of Baisnabpur area are experiencing disruptions and hardships due to ongoing excavation work for laying water pipelines. According to report, the DWS department has been installing water pipes along various roads in Sabroom city, but the company that was awarded the contract to lay the pipes is first digging up the soil along the road, creating drains, installing the pipes, and filling the drains with minimal soil.

But as soon as the monsoon starts, the wheels of vehicles on the Sabroom-Baisnabpur Road are constantly getting stuck due to the fact that soil was not properly placed on the drain after the pipes were installed along the side of the road. The wheels of the vehicles are going under the ground while trying to pass other vehicles. As a result, it has become difficult to move vehicles on this road. One such incident was witnessed on Friday around 12 noon when a vehicle got stuck in a drain made for laying pipes while transporting rice from the Sabroom rice godown to the ration shop. At that moment, an electric auto passed by the stuck car and got stuck in the drain made for laying pipes. Some people present helped the auto to lift it, but the other car was somehow pulled out by another car. Interacted media locals said that a major accident can happen on this road at any time. The concerned agency must concentrate over the innocent villagers suffering and take proper initiative to safe road, demand the local villagers.
