New Delhi, 29th of June 2026 : The Prajapati/Kumhar Community, through its All-India Organization Prajapati Community Service Foundation (PCSF), held a Soft Skill Development Training Program for political aspirants in Delhi, wherein about 55 delegates attended from the states where assembly elections are due to take place in 2027. Senior politicians from the community mentored the delegates by imparting their knowledge and experience to the aspiring candidates.
Raajesh Prajapati, President, PCSF said, “Prajapati/Kumhar (Potters) Community is estimated to be about 9 crores in population across India, but we lack social recognition due to lack of political representation. In order to address this situation, PCSF organized a first-of-its-kind Soft Skill Development Mentoring Program for about 55 delegates from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Goa. Through this program, we will prepare leaders who can raise our voice in every democratic institution. We demand that political parties allocate election tickets to Prajapati/Kumhar candidates on a pro-rata population basis at village, district, state and national levels.”
Prajapati Community Service Foundation (PCSF) has sent formal letters to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress and Samajwadi Party seeking fair representation. The Foundation leadership along with delegates from across India has already held a couple of meetings with Shri Rahul Gandhi to discuss the Community’s social upliftment through political empowerment by Indian National Congress.
To counter huge cost of education, Prajapati Community Service Foundation initiated its Financial Assistance Program in 2024 with the objective of supporting academically meritorious students from economically disadvantaged families belonging to the Prajapati/Kumhar/Kumawat/Kulal community. To date, the Foundation has extended support to 50 students across 10 states of India by directly remitting full tuition fees to their respective educational institutions. The beneficiaries are pursuing professional and higher education courses including Medical, Paramedical, Engineering, Law, MBA, Teaching, Post-Graduation, PhD, and other specialized programs. This initiative has significantly alleviated the financial burden on students, enabling them to focus on academic excellence and career development. The Foundation remains committed to expanding the reach of this program with a long-term vision of supporting 1,000 students, thereby contributing to the creation of a skilled, self-reliant, and empowered generation.
Raajesh Prajapati further added, “The Prajapati/Kumhar Community has decided to take a strong and active participation for social empowerment. Therefore, the Community decided to field at least 20 candidates from various political parties in the states that are scheduled to go for assembly elections in 2027. We are also preparing at least 5 candidates who will fight Lok Sabha Election in 2029.”
The Prajapati Community, recognized as OBC in many states while categorized as SC in some districts of Madhya Pradesh and as EBC in Bihar, has now seriously started its efforts for political outreach. With its pan-India presence, deep cultural roots in every village, and strong network of artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs, the community possesses the collective strength and organizational capacity to lead large-scale social welfare initiatives despite being underrepresented politically.
