Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of March, 2026 : A public awareness meeting under the “Prayaas” initiative was held at the Dharmanagar Police Station premises. The meeting was attended by Officer-in-Charge Mina Debbarma of Dharmanagar Police Station. NCC, Scouts, and Guides students actively participated in the programme.During the session, detailed discussions were held on crimes against women, prevention of road accidents, the harmful effects of illicit drugs, and the recent trends in cybercrime.

In her address, OC Mina Debbarma emphasized that the active awareness and involvement of teenagers are crucial in preventing crime in society. She particularly advised students to remain cautious in the online world—avoiding unknown links, fraudulent phone calls, and sharing personal information on social media platforms.On road safety, emphasis was placed on strictly following traffic rules and ensuring the mandatory use of helmets and seatbelts. Students were also made aware of the harmful consequences of drug addiction and were urged to inform the police immediately if they notice any such illegal activities.
During the interactive session, students raised various questions and shared their opinions on different issues. Police officials responded to their queries and assured that similar awareness programmes would continue in the future.The initiative generated enthusiasm among the students, and it was expressed that “Prayaas” would play a significant role in spreading a positive message throughout society.
