Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches PM-SURAJ Portal.

Agartala, 13th of March 2024 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan and Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan’ (PM-SURAJ) national portal on Wednesday (13th March, 2024) and sanctioned credit assistance for one lakh entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities.

“Entitlement money for poor people now goes directly to their accounts. No commission or recommendation is required for this. Without the development of people in all parts of the country, it will not be possible to reach the target of making India a developed country by 2047.”, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this while inaugurating the PM-SURAJ national portal this afternoon. The virtually event was held at Muktadhara Auditorium Hall, Agartala today. In the virtual event, the Prime Minister also said that in 2014, the present Government at the central started working with the goal of developing everyone together. This Government reaches out first to those whose faith has gone above and beyond. Dalits and Tribals benefit the most from the provision of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Dalits, people from backward sections now have proper housing, proper toilets. Free gas connection has reached them through Ujjwala Gas Yojana.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the launching ceremony of PM-SURAJ National Portal that no State can progress without the development of people from all sections of the society. The present Government of the state is working. He said that the present Government of the state is working under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has been working for the socio-economic development of the people who have never thought about the people of the society. Tripura government is also working towards that goal.

The Chief Minister said that till 2018, the number of self-help groups in the state was about 4 thousand. Now that number has increased to around 56 thousand. About 4.5 lakh women are associated with these groups. He said, every work is being done with utmost transparency. The word middle man is useless. All the facilities are being delivered to the beneficiaries at their homes using technology. The Chief Minister said that the states of the region are enjoying the benefit of the Act East policy adopted by the Prime Minister. By adopting this policy, the face of Tripura is changing. Tripura will transform into a gateway to South East Asia when the Maitri Setu is commissioned.

In the event, some beneficiaries were given loan approvals of Rs. 45,000 by the SC Development Corporation, Government of Tripura. Ayushman cards were also given to 5 people. PPE kits were given to 2 sanitation workers by Urban Development Department. The Chief Minister along with the guests handed over to them. Chief Minister and other guests witnessed the event Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this portal today for the entire nation.

B.S Mishra, Principal Secretary of  SC Welfare Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion at Muktadhara Auditorium. Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das, secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education Tapas Roy,  and many other dignitaries were present in the launching ceremony.
