Dharmanagar, Tripura, 8th of May 2026 : A huge crowd was witnessed at the Dharmanagar Police Station in North District on Friday as unemployed youths gathered to submit necessary documents for recruitment to the post of Special Executive. Since morning, many job seekers had been standing in long queues at the police station to complete the document submission process. The process was supervised by ASI Tapan Das along with other police personnel. It is noteworthy that on November 13, 2022, the State Government had issued a notification for the recruitment of 6,361 Special Executive posts. At that time, the State was gearing up for the Assembly elections.

However, the recruitment process was later cancelled due to various reasons, leading to disappointment among job aspirants for a long period. Recently, the state government once again issued a notification inviting applications for the Special Executive posts, rekindling hopes among unemployed youths across the state. A similar picture was seen in Dharmanagar on Friday, where numerous applicants were seen waiting in long lines to submit their documents.

However, the renewed recruitment drive has also triggered discussions among conscious sections of society. A section of people has questioned whether the process has been reactivated keeping the 2028 Assembly elections in mind. Questions are being raised over whether the move is a political strategy aimed at assuring unemployed youths ahead of elections.

According to administrative sources, the application submission and verification process is being conducted strictly as per rules. On the other hand, job aspirants expressed optimism, saying that after a long wait, the possibility of recruitment has finally brought them hope.
