Agartala, Tripura, 8th of November, 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Saturday (8th November, 2025). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested One (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 22.580 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). He wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about 8 PM to catch one person namely Abhijit Sinha (24) S/O- Lt. Gandhi Sinha Of Rajargaon, PO+PS- Pather Kandi, District- Karimganj, State- Assam. During his search railway police recovered two bags, one mobile phone and one Aadhaar card from his possession which containing total 22.580 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja. The value of this Ganja is Rs- 3.5 to 4 Lakh approx in black market. Railway Policearrested him from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the contraband Ganja and other articles. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP107, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
