Railway Police Seizes Cannabis, Arrested 1 Drug Peddlers In Agartala Railway Station.

Agartala, Tripura, 28th of October 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday (28th October, 2025). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested One (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 12.215 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). He wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.

According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 2 PM managed to catch one person namely Jalal Hossain (31), S/O- Malek Miah of Srimantapur, PS- Sonamura, Dist- Sepahijala, Tripura. During his search Railway Police recovered one hand bag from his possession which containing total 12.215 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja. The value of this Ganja is Rs- 1.5 Lakh approx in black market. Railway Police arrested him from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP105, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
