Agartala, Tripura, 7th of August, 2024 : The election commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday (7th August, 2024) has announced the date of by-elections for the Rajya Sabha seat on September 3, 2024 (Tuesday).
The Election commission of India (ECI) said in official statement, on 14th August, 2024 (Wednesday) Public Notice relating to the elections will be issued. Last date for submission of nomination papers is August 21, 2024 (Wednesday). Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on August 22, 2024 (Thursday). Last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 26th August, 2024 (Monday). Date of Poll on September 3, 2024 from 9 AM to 4 PM (Tuesday). Counting of votes will take place on September 3, 2024 (Tuesday) at 5 PM. The selection process will be completed before September 6, 2024 (Friday). In Tripura, Rajya Sabha seat of MP Biplab Kumar Deb has become vacant as the sitting member was elected to the Lok Sabha.
