Dhalai, Tripura, 6th of December, 2024 : If the farmer is self-sufficient, the state will be self-sufficient. If the state becomes self-sufficient, our country will move forward. Central and state governments are implementing various schemes to make farmers self-reliant. Ratan Lal Nath, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, said this while inaugurating a 1,000 MT capacity paddy storage Godown at Bamanchara in Durga Chowmuhani block of Dhalai district.
Speaking on the occasion, the agriculture minister also said that the main aim of the state government is to give priority to the poor people, farmers and villages. The state government aims to prioritize farmers by promoting scientific farming to increase agricultural production. Farmers are able to produce more crops and become self-reliant. The construction of a paddy storage Godown cost Rs. 1 crore 25 lakhs. The event also included the distribution of water motors for irrigation to five farmers. MLA Swapna Das Pal spoke on the occasion. Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sharadindu Das delivered the welcome speech. Bhanu Pratap Lodhi, chairman of Durga Chowmuhani Panchayat Samiti, was also present on the occasion.
