Agartala, Tripura, 22nd of September, 2024 : With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura organized preparatory review meeting on Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala on Sunday (22nd September, 2024).

This year Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) ceremony will be held on October 14, 2024. This decision was taken in a preparatory meeting regarding Maayer Gaman and Sharad Samman-2024 at Muktadhara Auditorium today.

Addressing at the preparatory review meeting on Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said according to the decision of the last meeting, the procession of the Maayer Gaman will start from the front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School on October 14, keeping the old tradition. The venue has been changed this year as space is not available in front of the City Centre. Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) will arrange idol immersion at Dasmighat from October 12 to 14.

Secretary of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Dr. P.K Chakraborty the procession of the Maayer Gaman will start from 5pm in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School on October 14. He also added that the interested clubs should register online or offline by October 7, 2024 to participate in the Maayer Gaman event.

Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Bishal Kumar, CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited Dr. Sailesh Kumar Yadav, senior police officers, representatives of different clubs of Agartala city were present in the meeting.
