Amarpur, Tripura, 21st of May 2026 : Local Reang indigenous inhabitants of Khondol Para under Bagafa block in Shantir Bazar, South Tripura are in great distress for their daily movement. Due to dilapidated village road condition villagers are facing acute communication hindrance rapidly specially in this rainy season.

As per the villagers’ report, the road from Takma market to Khondol Para about 4 km is very useful for the villagers of Khondol Para and its adjacent areas. But the last portion about 1 km of the road in Khondol Para has become death trap for the Reang inhabitants. This portion is fully damaged, full of potholes, sides collapsed and after rain the heap of mud vehicles can’t approach into the village.
During emergency cases like delivery case, accident incident as well as movement at night in rainy season is creating abundant sufferings for the locals. In summer season students are the worst victim as the road becomes fully muddy.

A senior citizen of the victim area said, “Our village road about 1 km distance is in worst state; even do not have brick soiling till today. The road has turned into a death trap at present. Due to rain its sides have been collapsed, here and there uncountable holes, potholes and heaps of mud have created critical obstacle for the pedestrians and vehicles.” He more added stating that they have appealed many times to the concerned block authority to do maintenance on this road but there is no any initiative till the date. In every year during raining season they are suffering much for last many decades.
Villagers can not take vehicle to handle emergency cases like to take patient or pregnant woman to hospital on timely. The concerned authority must visit the road and take an immediate initiative to provide relief these victim indigenous Reang villagers, demanded the poor Reang inhabitants of Khondol Para.
