Churaibari, North Tripura, 23rd of February, 2025 : Family members, including childrens injured in a late-night armed robbery in Ward No. 3 of Gobindapur Gram Panchayat under Churaibari Police Station. Robbery looted cash, gold worth lakhs.
According to sources, a group of masked assailants broke into a house at midnight, assaulted the residents, and looted cash and gold ornaments.The robbers broke down the door of the house with a sledgehammer and entered the house, held a gun to the heads of Sadhan Deb and his son Sagar Deb, too ₹ 73,300 in cash, gold ornaments, beat up his daughter who was in the next room, and fled with her daughter’s mobile phone and two other mobile phones.
Interacting with the media the owner of the house, Sadhan Deb said that he and his children were beaten up by a gang of robbers. Police from Churaibari, Kadamtala and Dharmanagar police stations rushed to the spot after receiving the information of the incident. District Superintendent of Police IPS Abinash Rai, Additional Superintendent of Police J. Darlong and Sub-divisional Police Officer B. Jerinpui also rushed to the spot today.
After receiving the information Jadab Lal Debnath of Bagbassa Assembly constituency rushed to the spot of that concerned area. Meanwhile, the dog squad and forensic team are being brought to the spot. High-ranking officials of the district police are present at the spot. The entire incident is causing a stir in the area.
