Rotary Club Of Agartala Organizing A District Seminar On The Prevention And Awareness Of Thalassemia In Tripura.

Agartala, Tripura, 13th of July 2025 : With the initiative of the Rotary Club of Agartala, under Rotary International District 3240, is organizing a District Seminar on the Prevention and Awareness of Thalassemia in Tripura on Monday (14th of July 2025). This is a significant initiative to reduce and eventually eliminate Thalassemia in Tripura. It also expand its reach to 8 North-Eastern states including Sikkim and parts of West Bengal. The seminar will be formally inaugurated on Monday, July 14 at 3 pm at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan,Agartala

The event will be attended by the state Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte, Director of Health Services Dr. Tapan Majumder, Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine Dr. Anjan Das,  Padma Shri Olympian gymnast Deepa Karmakar, other guests and senior officials.

The Rotary Club of Agartala has partnered with the Netaji Subhas Cancer Research Institute in Kolkata. A scientific session will also be held in the seminar. In which renowned doctors will participate. There will be an interactive open quiz for the audience. In the evening, members of various Rotary clubs of the district and eminent personalities will participate in the brainstorming session. At 7:30 pm, a special installation ceremony will be held and the new management board will formally take charge, bidding farewell to the old committee for one year.

The Rotary Club of Agartala gave details about this at a press conference organized at the Agartala Press Club Conference Hall on Saturday (12th July, 2025) afternoon. The conference was attended by the President of the Rotary Club of Agartala, Rotarian Kishalay Ghosh, Secretary Rotarian Dr. Priyanath Das and other members of Rotary Club.
