Udaipur, Tripura, 2nd of June, 2025 : The second batch of the five-day Scientific Fish Farming Training Program was successfully conducted from 27th May to 31st May 2025 at the Tripura Fisheries Training Institute (TFTI), Udaipur. A total of 25 Master Trainers participated in the program, which was organized under the guidance of the Fisheries Technical Support Agency (TSA) of the World Bank.

The participants were primarily from four districts of Tripura — North Tripura, Unakoti, Dhalai, and Khowai. The training aimed to build capacity among selected individuals on scientific fish farming practices. It included both classroom sessions and a practical field visit to the government hatchery at Mourigram, near Santirbazar in South Tripura, offering hands-on exposure to advanced aquaculture techniques.

The Master Trainers were nominated by the Superintendent of Fisheries and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM). Under the World Bank-supported project, these trainers will serve as resource persons for Matsya Sakhis, who will further disseminate the knowledge to members of various Producer Groups (PGs) across the state.

The training concluded on 31st May with a feedback session, during which participants expressed their appreciation for the knowledge imparted. Many trainees extended special thanks to Mr. Bidesh Naskar, one of the trainers, acknowledging his exceptional teaching and active engagement throughout the program.
This initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing sustainable aquaculture practices and strengthening livelihoods in rural Tripura.
