Agartala, Tripura, 25th of April 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Wednesday (22nd April, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 06.005Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 2 PM Railway Police managed to catch one person namely Delowar Hossain (26), S/O- Lt. Tajul Islam of Urmai, Nurul Haque Chwmuhani, PS- Sonamura, District-Sepahijala, State-Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 06.005 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in his bag.
The value of this Ganja is approx Rs fifty thousand in black market. Accordingly Railway Police arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP024, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
