Agartala, Tripura, 15th December, 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Monday (15th December, 2025). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 18.230 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). They wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about 6.30 PM managed to catch two person namely Md Javed Akhtar (33) S/O- Md Anwarul Haque of Srinagar, PO- Rifatpur, Ishipur, Bhagalpur, Bihar and Md Izaz Mansuri(35) S/O- Mohammad Ikbal Of Gandhi Mahalla, PO- Kotal Pukur, Kotalpokhar, Sahibganj, Jharkhand along with total 18.230 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja in their bags. The value of this Ganja is Rs-3 Lakh approx in black market. Railway Police arrested them from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP115, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
