Agartala, Tripura, 1st of March, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (1st March, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 2.560 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about 07 PM managed to catch one person namely Prem Kumar (20), S/0- Sri Shomhari Roy of Mohanpur, PS- Salimpur, Dist- Patna, State- Bihar at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 2.560 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in his bag. The value of this Ganja is Rs- 30 thousand approx in black market. Accordingly Railway Police detained him and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP013, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
