Agartala, Tripura, 9th of July, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Wednesday (8th July, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total 230 nos. ESkuf cough syrup.
According to sources, at about 4 PM Railway Police managed to catch one person namely Golu Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Jayram Ray of Naya Tola Bariyarpur, PO- Bakhtiyarpur, PS- Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Bihar at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 230 nos bottles of suspected to be contraband narcotic Eskuf (Cough Syrup) in his bags. Accordingly Railway Police arrested him.
Railway Police have detained him and seized the contraband ESkuf cough syrup. The value of this ESkuf cough syrup is Rs- 5 Lakh approximately in the black market. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP045, U/S-21(c)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
