Agartala, Tripura, 28th of November, 2025 : In a significant anti-smuggling operation, the West Police Station apprehended two smugglers and seized large consignment of Yaba Tablets worth approximately 10 to 12 lakhs and one bike on Thursday (27th November, 2025) night.

According to the report, on the 26th of this month, two smugglers were arrested from the Pragati Road, Krishna Nagar in Agartala, Tripura the State capital, with 10,000 yaba tablets. They are residents of Bamutia and Kalikapur. A motorcycle was also seized from them. The market value of the seized contraband is estimated to be 10 to 12 lakh rupees.

Interacted with media, SDPO also added that, two smugglers identified as Sujit Datta residence of North Bamutia and Suman Sarkar residence of Kalikapur. Two smugglers has been arrested and a case under NDPS Act and currently in remand at West Police Station.

A police team under the supervision of the West Agartala Police Station OC Rana Chattarjee conducted the investigation in association with OC of Ramnagar outpost Manish Paul. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Debaprasad Roy gave details about this today.
