Senior Citizens Day Celebrated By The Office Of The Principal Controller Of Communication Accounts, Guwahati.

Guwahati, Assam, 23rd of August, 2026 : The Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA), Guwahati, celebrated Senior Citizens Day on August 21 at the Conference Hall, BSNL Bhawan, Pan Bazar, Guwahati, under the chairpersonship of Ms. G. G. Shabong, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, Guwahati. Ms. Lopamudra Mohanty, Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), along with officers and staff of the Office of Pr. CCA, Guwahati, participated in the celebration.

Adopting a decentralized approach, the office felicitated pensioners at the Conference Hall while simultaneously conducting outreach programmes at their respective locations in Gopinath Nagar and Anandnagar (Kamrup Metro), Bakakuchi (Nalbari), and Kharupetia (Darrang). This initiative enabled senior citizens to participate in the celebrations through both physical and virtual modes, ensuring wider outreach and greater inclusivity. The initiative was warmly appreciated by the participants.

As part of the observance, Know Your Pension (KYP) Camps were organised across various districts to facilitate easier access to pension-related services. Pensioners were also sensitized about various policies, schemes, and provisions of the Government of India concerning pensioners and pension-related services.
