Dharmanagar, Tripura, 12th of July 2026 : Continuous monsoon rains have exposed the poor condition of several unpaved lanes in different wards under the Dharmanagar Municipal Council in North Tripura. Waterlogging and muddy roads have made daily commuting extremely difficult for local residents.School and college students, office-goers, senior citizens, and patients are among those facing the greatest inconvenience.

According to residents, despite repeated demands over the years for the roads to be paved, no permanent solution has been implemented. They said that every monsoon, the unpaved roads become waterlogged and slippery, making it risky for pedestrians to move around. Residents also claimed that minor accidents occur frequently due to the poor condition of these roads.
Locals further alleged that while various development projects are being highlighted in the municipal area, the basic infrastructure in several interior lanes remains neglected. They expressed concern that emergency service vehicles, including ambulances and fire engines, could face difficulties reaching these areas during emergencies.Residents have urged the Dharmanagar Municipal Council to prepare a list of all unpaved roads and undertake their construction on a priority basis. They believe that prompt action would significantly reduce the hardships faced by the public during the monsoon season.
