SFS School Celebrates Kokborok Day 2026.   

 Amarpur, Tripura, 19th of January 2026. St. Francis de Sales (SFS) School, Burburia, Amarpur celebrated Kokborok Day on 19th January 2026 with great enthusiasm, cultural pride, and splendour under the able guidance and leadership of Rev. Fr. Lijeesh Mathew MSFS, the Principal of SFS School. The celebration witnessed the active participation of the staff and students, making the occasion vibrant and memorable.

The programme was marked by a colourful display of Tiprasa culture, with students presenting various traditional items, dances, songs, and cultural expressions that reflected the rich heritage of the Kokborok language and the identity of the indigenous people of Tripura. The entire campus was filled with joy, unity, and cultural harmony.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Lijeesh Mathew MSFS delivered an inspiring and meaningful speech highlighting the importance of Kokborok Day. He emphasized the identity of the Tiprasa people, appreciating the language as a living symbol of history, culture, and unity. He paid rich tribute to the ancestors and great leaders who stood firmly for the preservation of the Kokborok language and the cultural identity of the Tiprasa community. His words encouraged the younger generation to take pride in their roots and to safeguard their language and traditions for the future.

The celebration concluded with a short yet beautiful rally, conducted by the students and staff dressed in traditional attire, spreading a strong message of cultural pride, unity, and respect for indigenous heritage. The rally added a festive spirit and left a lasting impression on all present.
