Khowai Police Seize 96.5 Kg Dry Cannabis, Worth Approx 20 Lakh. 

Khowai, Tripura, 18th of March, 2026 : During a routine vehicle checking Khowai Police Seize 96.5 Kg Dry Cannabis on Wednesday (18th March, 2026).

According to report , at around 8:30 AM today, during a routine vehicle checking on the Khowai–Kamalpur National Highway, a small goods vehicle was spotted approaching at high speed. Despite being signaled to stop, the vehicle ignored the instruction and sped away.

Later, the vehicle was chased and intercepted at Singichhara, where it was forced to stop by the roadside. The driver, however, managed to flee from the spot.

Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Krishnadhan Sarkar, the police, in the presence of a DCM vehicle, recovered 96.5 kg of dried cannabis from a concealed chamber inside the vehicle. Destination  of black market value of the seized contraband worth approx ₹20 lakh,  as informed by OC Krishnadhan Sarkar. Since assuming charge at Khowai Police Station, OC Krishnadhan Sarkar has achieved a series of major successes in cracking down on drug traffickers.
