Celebrated as a holistic system of well-being, yoga has been practised since ancient times to enhance physical health and mental resilience. Its enduring relevance lies in its ability to create harmony between the body, mind, and soul.

Regular yoga practice can strengthen both physical and mental health. It helps improve flexibility, balance, concentration, and overall wellness, while also contributing to stress reduction and a healthier lifestyle. Yoga creates a harmonious connection between human beings and nature, promoting inner peace and holistic well-being.

For mental tranquility and better health, yoga plays a vital role. Recognizing its immense benefits and global significance, 21 June is observed worldwide as International Yoga Day. To mark the occasion, yoga camps, workshops, and mass yoga sessions are organized across India and many other countries, encouraging people to embrace yoga as a way of life and achieve a healthier, more balanced future.

Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers is an institution committed not only to business but also to social responsibility. As part of its commitment to society and to encourage citizens to lead healthy and balanced lives, the organization observed International Yoga Day on 21 June.

To mark the occasion, workshops on yoga and meditation were organized in Agartala and Swarnagram. The sessions highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. Renowned yoga instructors Rupan Paul and Niranjan Bhattacharya guided the participants, demonstrating various yoga practices and meditation techniques while emphasizing the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the workshops were held at 7:30 a.m. at Sandhyanir and 9:30 a.m. at Apnaghar, a residential home for mothers. During the sessions, yoga instructor Rupan Paul shared valuable guidance on maintaining physical health and overall well-being, especially for the elderly residents.

The celebration was marked by various yoga, pranayama, and meditation activities, highlighting the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Participants actively took part in the sessions, making the observance of International Yoga Day both meaningful and enriching.

At the conclusion of the workshops, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers distributed fruits and other essential items among the mothers as a gesture of care and support. The programme ended on a warm note with a shared breakfast, providing an opportunity for interaction and fellowship with the residents.

At 3:00 p.m., a similar workshop was organized at Swarnagram Sikshalaya, where more than a hundred residential students participated enthusiastically. The young students regularly practice yoga throughout the year under the guidance of yoga instructor Niranjan Bhattacharya.

The programme began with a captivating yoga demonstration by the children, showcasing their discipline, flexibility, and dedication to the practice. Their enthusiasm, energy, and joy were evident throughout the event, making the celebration even more vibrant and inspiring. The workshop served as a valuable opportunity to encourage young minds to embrace yoga as an integral part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Speaking on the occasion, Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, “This workshop is not a one-day event; rather, it is part of a long-term process. Many of the participants at this morning’s sessions in the mothers’ residential homes are physically and mentally unwell. Some are suffering from severe pain and discomfort. Keeping their condition in mind, therapy sessions were also arranged after the workshop. Such initiatives are extremely important for mothers who are in the twilight years of their lives.”

He also added, “Similarly, it is essential to cultivate an interest in yoga among young students. Yoga not only helps maintain physical health but also promotes balance of the mind, brain, and spirit. This is why yoga can be effective not only in addressing physical ailments but also in improving mental well-being and helping individuals overcome various psychological challenges.”

Rupak Saha emphasized that the objective of these initiatives is to encourage people of all age groups to adopt yoga as a way of life, enabling them to lead healthier, happier, and more balanced lives.

The International Yoga Day initiative undertaken by Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, bringing together enthusiasts of all age groups, was celebrated successfully in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere. The event fostered a spirit of health, wellness, and community participation, making the observance both meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
