Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of March, 2026 : A case of alleged assault over a family dispute has surfaced in Ward No. 5 of Rangauti Gram Panchayat under Kailashahar subdivision. The injured housewife is currently undergoing treatment at Unakoti District Hospital.
The incident took place in Ward No. 5 of Rangauti Gram Panchayat in Kailashahar subdivision. According to local sources, Mofashir Ali’s younger brother, Motachir Ali, has been accused of physically assaulting his sister-in-law, Shilpi Begum.As per allegations, a family dispute began a few days ago over an unspecified issue. The injured woman’s family claims that the disagreement escalated, leading Motachir Ali to physically attack Shilpi Begum. She was rescued in a seriously injured condition and admitted to the district hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.Following the incident, Shilpi Begum lodged a written complaint against the accused at the Irani Police Station. Sources say that this was not the first instance of family conflict, as several mediation meetings had reportedly been held earlier, but no permanent resolution was reached.
Shilpi Begum has approached the media seeking justice. The incident has created tension and concern in the Rangauti Gram Panchayat area. Local residents are now awaiting to see what action the police will take against the accused.
