Teliamura, Tripura, 13th of January, 2026 : The people of Kerleng Para had been demanding access to clean drinking water for a long time. Before the election, local MDC Utpal Debbarma had promised to address the issue. Now, steps have been taken to fulfill that promise.
Interacted with the media MDC Utpal Debbarma said, “I am very happy today. This is the first project that we are implementing in Kerleng Para through our initiative. During the election campaign, the people of this village asked me for only two things — clean drinking water and a main road.”
He said that the TRADER organisation has provided solar panels at three locations to help address the drinking water problem. “After we raised the issue in our first meeting, they extended their support without any hesitation. One solar panel has been installed at Kerleng Para, another at Samburampra, and the third at Kagrasa,” he said.
Regarding the road, he said, “We have already submitted a proposal for the main road. I believe the Tripura government will take the necessary initiative in this regard very soon.”
The MDC further informed that another project in the area is nearing completion. However, due to some technical issues, it has not yet been made operational. “We hope that it will also be opened for the public very soon,” he said.
Finally, he thanked the Hon’ble Governor of the state, saying, “He has given me this platform through which I have the opportunity to work for these people.”
Residents of Kerleng Para expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the initiative.
