Sonamura, Tripura, 26th of June 2026 : According to Sonamura Police, at around 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM a man suddenly entered the Sonamura Court premises carrying stones and a broken glass bottle. Before anyone could react, he allegedly vandalised court property by damaging windows and doors and attempted to attack several people present inside the court.

During the commotion, the man ran into the office chamber of the District Judge of Sepahijala District and allegedly tried to assault court staff and create further disturbance within the court complex.
Following the incident, the Sonamura Court Administration lodged a formal complaint. Based on the complaint, Sonamura Police Station registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that after completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused was produced before the competent court with a prayer for three days of police remand to facilitate further investigation.
