Sonamura, Tripura, 27th of February, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police secret operation was launched in Sonamura on Thursday (26th February, 2026) night.
According to the sources, Sonamura Police, arrested one (1) Bangladeshi Nationals and one (1) Indian touts from Durgapur area, Sonamura.One Bangladeshi National (male -1) and 01 Indian tout (male-1) detain from Sonamura. In this regards one case registered under the Immigration and foreigners Act 2025 and BNS Act 2023.
The name of the arrested, Easin Arafat (19), S/O- Lt. Masuk Miah of Songrise, PS-Kotwali, District-Commila, Bangladesh and Abul Khyear(45) of Durgapur, ward no-02, Sonamura, Sepahijala Tripura.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
