Sonamura, Tripura, 21st of August, 2026 : Sonamura police arrested one drug peddler at Rangamati, Sonamura Police Station, under Sepahijala District on Thursday (20th August, 2026) night.
According to Sonamura police Thursday night, a drug peddler was arrested from the Rangamati area under Sonamura Police Station for allegedly being involved in drug trafficking.
During interrogation, the Sonamura Police team reportedly obtained the names of several other suspected drug peddlers operating in the area. These names have been shared with the intelligence agencies of both the state and central governments, and verification is currently underway. Those found to be involved after verification and due investigation will also be dealt with according to law.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
